Tobin Chodos, composer/pianist
At age 17, as an honors graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, Tobin Chodos was awarded the Adam Schulman Scholarship, the McCabe Scholarship in Music, and the 2003 Brubeck Fellowship in Jazz Piano. He went on to study as a Brubeck Fellow for the 2003-2004 academic year. In 2007, Chodos was the pianist in residence at the House of Jazz and Blues in Shanghai, China. In 2009 he graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors from Columbia University, having earned a B.A. in Ancient Greek and Latin. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in composition at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His debut album, Salmon Up, will be released by Point14 in winter of 2011.
